Extra charges for rush jobs

Translations are usually the last but one link in the process chain (before printing or sending out) and more often than not, the time frame is tight. We are used to working under a certain pressure and therefore do not normally ask for an extra charge for rush jobs.

Still it may happen that we squeeze in an urgent job and as a consequence have to work in the night or over the weekend to finish another job on time (and we have never missed a deadline).

We have come to a simple and in our opinion fair agreement with our clients. If their budget allows, they pay a premium (25% to 50%); if not, we do the job at our usual rate. After all, we also want the project to be a success since this will secure our continued cooperation. In return, our clients offer a mark-up on other jobs if they have a little room to move.
